Q5: Do Interdisciplinary Program students need to choose a specific track in their sophomore year?
At CCU, the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Program (IDP) remains non-departmental throughout the entire four years of study. Therefore, students are not streamed into specific departments in their sophomore year.
In addition, students in the program are required to fulfill the Professional Specialization Requirement, with the following regulations:
Professional Electives (Specialization Recognition) – Minimum 20 Credits:
-
Students must complete at least 20 credits from the required courses of any minor program offered by other departments at CCU.
-
If the required courses of the selected minor total fewer than 20 credits, students must take additional professional elective courses from the same department to meet the requirement. Please refer to the minor course list announced by each department for the corresponding academic year.
-
Prerequisite courses for the minor are not counted toward the 20-credit specialization requirement; however, students must still fulfill any prerequisite conditions.
-
First- and second-year students in the IDP must take at least four required professional courses from other departments per academic year.
-
Students who meet all requirements will have the specialization area noted on their diploma upon graduation.
